The Department of Records and Info Services (DORIS) is trying to push through a new plan to license public records. Yes, records people paid to have created and records taxpayers paid to maintain. Deadlines are quickly approaching for what may become a court case. The New York Genealogical & Biographical Society is spearheading an effort to get family historians, historians, and journalist on record opposing this move. Read what they have to say.
